I am Selina Wright, fitness trainer and coach and have been actively working in the fitness industry in Mackay for almost twenty years. For the first nineteen years I predominantly trained females in various training programs as part of my private fitness studio Red E Personal Training in Mackay CBD, with extensive experience in One-on-One Personal Training, Small Group Training, Women's Only Bootcamps and Mums and Bubs Sessions.
While pregnant and then after having my daughter a few years ago, I became aware of the lack of education and information regarding exercising during pregnancy, but more-so the rehabilitation and the expectations of your body when returning to exercise, and ensuring it was safe for the new mums' body.
So, I immersed myself in further education and gaining additional certifications specifically for Pregnant and Post-Natal Women. My specialty is post partum rehabilitation and helping new mums return to fitness and the sports they love, safely and progressively, whilst educating them to understand their post natal body.
In 2023, I re-branded from Red E Personal Training to 'Female Fitness Co' to reflect the area I am now working in. I exclusively train women and mums. with my signature Post Natal Program - 'Fit Mums Foundations: Return to Exercise' Program and my 'Fit Mums' general fitness sessions for mums of all ages and stages.
I am a certified GGS Pre and Post Natal Coach and hold multiple accredited qualifications including 'Safe Return to Exercise', 'Safe Return to Running' and I am a MumSafe(TM) Trainer.
This is six week exercise and education program, designed for new mums who are ready to return to exercise safely and progressively. Starting with re-strengthening and re-connecting with the core and pelvic floor, there we progressively build functional strength as we transition back into exercise.
Our 'Fit Mums' Sessions are child friendly and suitable for mums of all ages, stages and levels of fitness. Sessions are a combination of strength and conditioning designed to help you find your version of fit for all that mum life brings.
This downloadable exercise and education program, is designed for new mums who are ready to return to running or begin a running program! Taking post natal considerations into account, and an understanding of' starting at the beginning' this progressive strength and running program will help get you back pounding the pavement.
POST NATAL FITNESS AT HOME
You might be ready to return to exercise, but would prefer to do it at home, and fit it in when you can. Or maybe the times of the Face-to-Face Program don't work for bub's schedule right now, Get started, with support, at home when it suits you!
SELF PACED CORE PROGRAM
Your core may need a little extra attention, so this self-paced progressive program can be used as a supplement to any training that you are currently undertaking.
This program starts with the basics, then adds variation and progressions which you can do to at all stages of life to keep your body strong.
You may prefer to train one-on-one with Selina with a program specific to your needs. Whether returning to exercise post-natally or navigating post-partum diastasis recti, prolapse, urinary incontinence, Selina can help you continue to exercise, while working around these considerations, and empower you to work with your body, and get stronger and do the things you like with confidence.
Selina is also available for training sessions for general health, fitness and strength goals.
Along with 20 years of extensive experience training females, Selina is a mum too. She continued to exercise during pregnancy, and with her understanding of post-natal conditions and experiences, rehabilitated herself to return to fitness. It was this process and experience that was the influence for her 'Return to Exercise' Post Natal Program.
We work with Women's Health Physios and other allied health professionals to ensure the best outcome for our clients.
If you have any post natal considerations including Diastasis Recti, prolapse, stress urinary incontinence and other pelvic floor considerations, we will ensure you can still exercise effectively and safely, with the correct strategies for your body and situation.
We understand that as a mum, no two days are the same. Energy output is greatly affected by how much (or little!) sleep you have had, nutrition intake, and how you are feeling mentally. You are never under any pressure to perform at your maximum at any each session - simply attending training for gentle movement and other social interact
